Breaking down my 17’x19′ craft studio!!
Hello Maker’s!!
Today’s post is a little bittersweet. My beautiful and large studio is coming down, I’m packing her up. I mixed up the dimensions of it in my last studio tour but it is confirmed to be a 17’x 19′ room! It’s the biggest I’ve ever had and I’ve been super blessed to have this space. Anyhow, I’ve had this studio for 10 years!! It was my most cherished one because I finally felt like I had all the elbow room in the world and it was laid out exactly how I wanted it, I had room for everything and it was the largest of all. This room is the family room of the house and since we were pretty much empty nesters at the point of purchase, I took this room for my beloved craft studio!!
Here are some overview pictures of my studio.

I mentioned a few times that my husband and I are going to sell this house and he’ll be able to retire. I’ll be filling you in as I go through this journey with my husband. He’s been so ready for retirement so I said, “Ok, let’s list the house and we’ll go from there!”
I did my first and only studio tour in January 2022 when my dad passed away and I went back home to Washington State. I’ll link that video below along with today’s video! Now that tour came because I desperately needed to clean in there since I was gone so long….it was a HUGE DISASTER!! So I recorded a “Pre-tour” then a “Cleaning, Organizing and Purging” video then came the actual Tour! It took me so long to do these videos and just 4-5 years later I’m now breaking it all down. I’ve packed many boxes and now have them in my storage unit along with some of the furniture.
But here are links to the 2 videos. I hope you enjoy!!
So our house has 4 bedrooms and since our kids are grown and not living with us anymore I was able to use the old guest room which is the smallest of the 4 so I moved the guest bedroom into a slightly larger room and I moved into that smaller room. I will be sharing a tour of this room next! It didn’t take long to fill, lol, but I have to say that not having my larger studio… well I really miss it!
Just a few things I used for packing up my studio and my home. You can head over to my Amazon Store to see other useful products.
- Honeycomb packing paper
- Plain packing paper
- Large roll of plastic wrap
- Clear packing tape
- Several different color Duck tape helps to identify room contents.
- Cardboard boxes
- Old towels, old blankets or moving blankets for furniture. Great place to find some very inexpensively is at your local Goodwill, Thrift Shops or family and friends!
Now because we’re selling our house it needs to look roomy and purposeful and uncluttered, so says my broker, Amy. I know, I know…it was purposeful to me but to anyone coming into the house it would have overwhelmed them. If you would like to see the progress of this now family room I’m sharing this process at my Vlog channel “At Jules House”. I invite you to come see the small transformation of almost every room!!
I’m praying for our future as I don’t know where God will take us. Along with my husband, my family, my mother and my brothers we are planning to be together. Not sure how but we’re trusting that we’re led to make the right moves.
I hope you all have a great day!! Stay tuned for the new studio tour and visit my vlog site “At Jules House” to see the changes we made!
