"Making memories and celebrating moments with pretty crafty things!"

Coco Chanel inspired Baby Shower project and see how I accented with foil!!

Just gonna start off with both Part #1 and #2 video tutorials. Yes, they’re a little long but keep in mind there are 4 projects for this baby shower ensemble that I’m creating with tons of graphic design and tons of details! They did also take me about a month to make!

So, I hope you enjoy these vlog style tutorials on the Coco Chanel project I made for my niece! Click the buttons below for part 1 and 2.

Well, Hello!!

I’m excited about this project because it is by far my very favorite to date, well maybe second to Anna’s wedding! I’ve made birthday and shower invitations over the last 10+ years but none like this. I’ll share more about this later but let’s start talking about this one yeah?!

I created an ensemble or a set of Coco Chanel inspired Baby Shower invitations and to go along with these invites I also created a Menu card to be placed on top of the service setting, table labels for the deserts and drinks. I was going to make placemats but I talk more about that in my 2nd video. I did come up with a 4th element that I was SUPER excited about making and I didn’t reveal it until my 2nd video! I hope you like and enjoy this 2 part series as I go through a month of fun, creativity and stress!!

One of the techniques I had to teach myself was how to accent labels and stickers with foil. Now because I could not find any tutorials out there that had a good explanation it took me a while to figure out how to split my images and how to print them or to even do that in the first place. It took me quite a while to learn and even though I share what I do in these 2 videos I was still learning from my mistakes as you watched. You should have heard me telling my past me in the video, “NO, you have to do this first”, “I can’t believe I didn’t know this then” or “Remember the layer order”, things like that! It was so much fun and now that I’ve got the hang of it I’m having a blast. I will be making a tutorial strictly on foil accenting soon so SUBSCRIBE and stay tuned!

EDITED: I have uploaded this foiling tutorial in detail. If you’re interested – HERE

So yeah, this event was last year but as you may remember my Dad was ill in 2020 and 2021 and passed away in September 19, 2021. I documented a “Last Moments” video at my vlog channel. After another
baby shower in October 2021 (I’ll be sharing that project here in a bit) I brought mama home with me to spend some time until December 2021. My hubby and I vacationed through the New Year of 2022…much needed time away… and I’ve been home for a few months, so now finally, this project.

Talking about Alissa’s baby shower, it was a whole other level of stress for Lisa and I! I did record most of the event and will have that video ready over at my vlog channel “At Jules House” soon. The only footage of that I could not get was when we were cooking and prepping that morning, well, most of that morning. The house was in serious motion with people and servers and kids running around…I’m still recovering!! Head over there and subscribe with notifications so you can catch it when it’s released, I would love to have you over!

Remember in Part 2 when I didn’t use the 1 1/2″ ribbon that I was SO in love with?? Well let me tell ya what happened. I knew when I bought those 2 rolls at Joann in Walla Walla that the packaging was different but the shade looked the same as what I had and at that time I SHOULD’VE compared those with the 7/8″ ribbon rolls I had in that bag! Rookie mistake darnit!!! Anywhoo….the shades on all but 3 rolls were different (I had like 9-10 rolls) and the 3 just wasn’t enough for all 70 fans so luckily I had TONS of the 7/8″ rolls so I used those! Things like this happen, gotta just roll with it…so I did!

Although I had some issues arise I was able to get through it all happily and gift my niece Alissa with this Coco Chanel inspired ensemble for her baby shower which had an unexpected early delivery! Niyah was born 5 weeks premature. She was due July 6 or so and Alissa had some early signs of pre-eclampsia. “Buggie” just couldn’t stay in. It was a little rough for both of them but we’re all thankful things worked out and they’re both ok! She was born on May 24th 2021. Here they all are!!

You guys are awesome! Thanks for your support and for stopping by!
