Making Baby Albums! || Sharing shortcuts!
Hello friends!
I don’t know if you get a little overwhelmed with making a full blown album from scratch but I do sometimes and I say “sometimes” because unless I have a paper collection that makes my wheels turn with ideas for pages then yes, I’ll work on one no matter how long it takes but if not….I feel stuck and this is almost every time!! Do you feel that way too??
I think the fun part is when your creative juju flows and you feel such an ease with creating every page, ahh, I LOVE that! Then the next step is filling it, now that part get’s tricky for me, sometimes I don’t have enough pictures for an album and I feel the album will look unfinished. I mean I guess it’s ok because the point is being creative isn’t it? So what about the practicality of an album? What was the purpose WAYYY back in the day of having an album?? I think it was to have a place to add alllll of your family photos so you and your family could enjoy them, right? and maybe too it was to keep track of family members long gone to know your ancestry, that was pretty important. So why do I stress about feeling like I have to make an album from scratch and filling it with a theme of photos?? Well it’s just that, I don’t have to.
I think I finally understand what Project Life was supposed to be for which is an amazing concept if you could always feel like you’re keeping up with it. Unfortunately, I don’t so it can overwhelm me still. I don’t want to feel rushed…the days, the years, go by so super fast that I just don’t have many albums done. I have a HUGE tote box chuck full of developed photos and I feel like forgetting all of the “keeping up with albums” like Project Life and having filled albums with nothing fun to look at…I’m gonna meet myself in the middle of it. I think I’m going to get those photos out, put them in albums, then work on them in my own time, one album at a time!
Now if you make an album cover to fill later with undeveloped photos, the concept is the same but now you know what you want to put in that album and you can look through, in my case, in my external hard drive I have folders for each girl that I can go to and just print them off at home! Since my Selphy prints in 4×6 and collages within that size it’ll be so easy! So, with today’s project, I decorated the cover of a already made album from Hobby Lobby so my mom and I could sit together and print off some pictures of her 2 great grandbaby girls and fill up the pages with some decorative paper collections, journaling and maybe some flip pages!! It’ll be so fun! FYI, my mom lives in LA and I live in Southeastern Washington state so whenever she comes up for a visit we could work on it and I will share that process with you!
