Tutorial: How to make an elegant square style envelope!
Hello everyone!
I hope your week is going well:)
One of my passions in paper crafting has been designing party invites and announcements for family events. I’m currently working on a Wedding set for a client in Los Angeles who is getting married in February 2015. I’ve already finished up her “Save the Date” announcements and have started on her invitations. Along with the wedding invites I’m designing RSVP cards in a postcard style that will accompany the wedding invite in a handmade envelope made from a coordinating cardstock. One of the best cardstocks out there on the market are made by American Crafts hands down, so I used “vanilla” which is a cream toned and is a textured cardstock!
I decided to go with a square styled envelope instead of a triangular style which is where all the pointed ends of the cardstock come together, I felt the square style had such a classy look and it was a perfect fit for this event.
I decided to share my process in a video in hopes that it will help anyone to make this style of envelope who hasn’t made one and would like to give it a try.
Products used:
- American Crafts 12×12 textured card stock in Vanilla
- Trim and Score board by We R Memory Keepers
- WRMK corner chomper
- 1/2″ score tape
- Paper scissors
- Stylus set
Some pictures of my envelopes and some parts of the invites process!! You’ll see an RSVP card on top of the wedding invite. I mailed separately because she was adding something in the envelope before mailing. Such a pretty set and I’m proud of this project!

I appreciate that you stopped by today!
